Meeting with H.E. Ambassador Lateef Kayode

Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) was pleased to host H.E. Ambassador Lateef Kayode Are, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the United States, at CCA's Washington, D.C. office for an engaging discussion with CCA members on strengthening U.S.-Nigeria economic and commercial relations.

CCA President and CEO Florie Liser welcomed Ambassador Are and thanked him for meeting with CCA members to discuss Nigeria's economic priorities, investment climate, and opportunities for expanding bilateral trade and investment.

During his remarks, Ambassador Are commended CCA for its longstanding commitment to advancing U.S.-Africa trade and investment and for the important role it has played in supporting economic growth across the continent. He shared his vision for deepening U.S.-Nigeria business partnerships by fostering greater confidence among investors and addressing barriers that can hinder investment, including misconceptions and outdated perceptions of Nigeria's business environment.

Ambassador Are emphasized the importance of promoting two-way partnerships that create shared value for both countries. He also highlighted the significant role that the Nigerian diaspora can play in advancing trade, investment, innovation, and stronger economic and political ties between Nigeria and the United States.

The meeting provided CCA members with an opportunity to discuss their business interests in Nigeria, exchange ideas, and explore opportunities for collaboration with the Embassy and Nigerian stakeholders.

In closing, Florie Liser thanked Ambassador Are for his candid and forward-looking discussion and reaffirmed CCA's commitment to working closely with the Ambassador, the Embassy of Nigeria, and CCA members to further strengthen the U.S.-Nigeria economic partnership and expand opportunities for private sector engagement.
