Meetings on the Hill

In July, Florie Liser, President and CEO of Corporate Council on Africa (CCA), met with U.S. Senator Raphael G. Warnock (D-GA) and staff members of U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) to discuss the reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank (EXIM)and the renewal of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA). As members of both the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs and the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance, Senators Warnock and Warren are well-positioned to advance these priorities.
Senator Warnock reaffirmed his commitment to working with CCA to secure long-term reauthorization and renewal of both measures, noting, "It is in America's interest to strengthen trade and investment between the United States and Africa." Senator Warren is also committed to addressing AGOA and EXIM before the end of the 119th Congress in December 2026.
During the August Congressional Recess, CCA will continue to conduct bipartisan Hill visits on both issues with key staffers in the House and Senate.
