Adam Cortese
Adam Cortese is Chief Executive Officer of Sun Africa and UGT Renewables (UGTR), two U.S.-based international energy companies that finance, develop, and execute large-scale power infrastructure projects in Africa and Eurasia. Under his leadership, Sun Africa has delivered multibillion-dollar grid and power-generation initiatives across the continent that have been commended by host governments for speed of execution, local job creation, and enhanced energy security. At UGTR, Cortese has overseen similarly ambitious projects across Eurasia, expanding reliable electricity access while forging durable commercial ties in strategically important markets. His hands-on approach has established both companies as trusted American partners capable of delivering complex projects on time and at scale in challenging environments.
Cortese is widely regarded as an authority on U.S.-China commercial competition and has testified before the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, providing detailed analysis on countering Beijing’s global infrastructure dominance. His perspectives on trade, energy markets, and national security have been featured in Bloomberg, The New York Times, and on CNN. A graduate of Bucknell University with a B.A. in International Relations and holder of a Master of Global Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University, Cortese continues to shape American leadership in strategic international energy development.
