Derick De Zilva is the Chief Executive, Standard New York Inc. in the United States, a member of the Standard Bank Group in Africa. He is based in New York and leads Standard Bank Groups US operations focusing on supporting US based multinational clients to do business in Africa and facilitating trade and investment between the US and Africa.

Derick brings 27 years of international banking experience with his previous roles in Asia, Middle East, Africa, and Europe. Most recently he was the Head, Transaction Banking International for Standard Bank based in London and led the business origination from Global Multinational clients across the bank’s international locations which under his leadership grew from strength to strength, becoming one of the fastest growing business units in the region. With his exposure to diverse, developed, and emerging financial markets and his solid background in client management, product solutions and risk management, he brings a unique perspective to leading Standard Bank’s business in the United States.

Derick started his career with ANZ Grindlays in Sri Lanka and following the merger with Standard Chartered Bank, worked in several different countries before joining Standard Bank in South Africa in 2014. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from University of Western Sydney in Australia and is a Chartered Banking Professional of South Africa.
