Theodore Giletti

Banco Angolano de Investimentos (BAI)

Theodore Giletti began his career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York as an economist in the International Research Department. After 17 years as an investment banker at Bankers Trust, working between New York and London until 1995, where he served as Managing Director of Energy Merchant Bank, focusing on emerging markets, he went on to become a Managing Director at UBS Warburg Dillon Read (1996–1999). From 1999 to 2002 heled Structured Trade and Commodity Finance across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East at Standard Chartered Bank.

 

Across his senior roles at Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS), UBS Warburg Dillon Read, and Standard Chartered Bank, Mr. Giletti was responsible for key investment banking activities for Africa, bringing deep experience in cross-border finance and emerging market transactions.

 

He has been a Non-Executive Director of Banco Angolano de Investimentos (BAI) since its founding and currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. He chairs the Bank’s Risk Committee and is Vice Chairman of the Higher Council of the BAI Foundation. He is a Non-Executive Director of Angola Capital Partners - the management company for Fundo de Investimento Privado Angola (FIPA); and serves on its Investment Committee.
