Blain Getachew
Blain is an accomplished accounting professional with extensive experience in full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, general ledger management, month-end and year-end close, and GAAP-compliant financial operations. Known for accuracy, integrity, and a commitment to continuous improvement, Blain produces reliable financial information that supports informed organizational decision-making and strong financial stewardship.
An Ethiopian American and graduate of George Mason University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Blain serves as Senior Accountant at Corporate Council on Africa (CCA). In this role, Blain works closely with the President and CEO, COO, and program leads to strengthen the accuracy, integrity, and effectiveness of CCA’s financial operations. Blain supports financial reporting, account reconciliation, budgeting, internal controls, and day-to-day accounting activities while helping ensure that financial information is timely, accurate, and useful to organizational leadership.
Prior to joining CCA, Blain held accounting positions across both the corporate and nonprofit sectors, developing broad experience in managing financial operations and supporting organizations with diverse accounting and reporting needs. Throughout Blain’s career, a consistent focus has been placed on improving processes, strengthening internal controls, that enhance the reliability of financial operations. Blain brings a collaborative and solutions-oriented approach to accounting.
