On April 15, 2026, Corporate Council on Africa, in partnership with Akin Group, welcomed the Republic of Guinea to the Robert Strauss Conference Hall for a milestone presentation of Simandou 2040 — the country's ambitious national strategic development plan charting Guinea's economic trajectory over the next two decades. The event brought together senior Guinean government officials and members of the US investment community for a substantive dialogue on one of Africa's most consequential emerging investment opportunities.

The program opened with a keynote address from H.E. Mariama Ciré Sylla, Minister for the Economy, Finance, and the Budget, who articulated Guinea's considerable economic potential and the government's commitment to building a transparent, competitive, and welcoming business environment for international stakeholders. H.E. Ismael Nabé, Minister for Planning, International Cooperation and Development, followed with a comprehensive presentation of the Simandou 2040 framework itself — outlining Guinea's strategic repositioning around its natural resources and critical minerals sector under the vision of "the new Guinea, the real Guinea."

Maimouna Dhikaby, Economic Advisor to the Presidency, closed the program with a compelling case for Guinea as one of Africa's most dynamic investment destinations, projecting sustained growth of up to 10% annually over the next 40 years. Her remarks were followed by an interactive session with investors across sectors including agribusiness, offering a rare opportunity for direct dialogue between capital and country. The event underscored CCA's continued commitment to facilitating meaningful, high-level engagement between the US private sector and Africa's most promising growth markets.
